Almost 1,200 scholarships are now available for international and domestic students to study in Australia’s regions following the announcement of the Destination Australia Program.

The $93.7 million Destination Australia program aims to attract international and domestic students to study in regional Australia. It’s also designed to develop regional tertiary education institutions and offer students a high-quality learning experience without geographical restrictions.

Scholarships are available for students planning to undertake Certificate IV through to PhD qualifications.

Students who are interested in applying for a Destination Australia Scholarship can do so directly with their preferred successful provider.

The scholarships will provide eligible students with the opportunity to explore a unique life outside metropolitan cities while undertaking a world-class tertiary education.

Students can now apply for a scholarship directly with a successful tertiary education provider for the 2020 academic year. A list of successful providers is now available.

Apart from the scholarship opportunities, students will be able to access additional 2 years of Subclass 485 Graduate (Post Study Work) visa for courses from bachelor’s degree or higher. Therefore, someone studying a PhD in one of these regional areas would be eligible for a 6-year 485 visa (previously 4 years duration).
